Members are summoned to attend a FACILITIES AND ASSET MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
MEETING to be held on TUESDAY, 27th APRIL 2021, ONLINE VIA THE ZOOM MEETING
FACILITY, commencing at 2PM for the purpose of transacting the business

AGENDA
PUBLIC QUESTION TIME
Owing to the pre-election regulations that will be in force from Monday 22 March 2021, there will
be No Public Question Time until following the Local Council Elections scheduled for 6 May
2021. However, members of the public can always contact the Town Council around any
concerns or issues that they may have and officers wil,l if possible, endeavour to address them.
There will also be no Member Question Time at this meeting for the same reasons
1. APOLOGIES
To receive any apologies for absence.
2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
To receive any declarations of pecuniary or non-pecuniary (personal) interests relating
to items on the agenda.
3. REQUESTS FOR DISPENSATIONS
To receive and consider granting any written requests from Members for
dispensations in respect of disclosable pecuniary interests
4. MINUTES
To take as read and confirm as accurate the attached minutes of the meeting held on
26 January 2021 (PAPER A)
5. GENEARAL UPDATES
To note various updates on the Town Councils assets and facilities. (PAPER B)
6. ALLOTMENTS FORWARD PLAN
i. To agree to join the national allotment society

ii. To agree to research and apply for grant funding opportunities to provide
accessible toilets and allotments at the Quarry Rd allotment site.
iii. To agree to explore options with the current owner regarding the acquisition of
the scrub land adjacent to the Quarry Rd site to provide additional allotments.
7.
RYDE SKATEPARK
To delegate authority to the Facilities Officer to undertake the necessary procurement
practices and to appoint a suitable contractor to undertake the necessary repairs to
the skatepark.
8.
APPLEY PUBLIC TOILETS
To receive an update on the issues with the Appley Public Toilets and agree how the
Council should proceed to resolve the current issues.
9.
DONATION OF OUTDOOR GYM EQUIPMENT
To consider the offer from the Waterside Trust to donate their unused outdoor gym
equipment for public use and to agree the purchase of additional items and ongoing
maintenance costs. (Report to follow)

DATE OF NEXT MEETING
To note that the next scheduled Asset and Facilities Management Committee will be
held, subject to the calendar of all meetings approval at Annual Council on 17 May
2021, on Tuesday, 8 June 2021 at 2pm. The method and venue of meeting to be
advised.

Due to the confidential nature of the business to be discussed it is advisable in the
public interest that the public and press be excluded for the following item and they
are instructed to withdraw - in accordance with Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings)
Act 1960 s1 (2) and Standing Order no.80.

DECORATIVE LIGHTING AND DISPLAYS CONTRACT PROCUREMENT
To consider the tenders for the Decorative Lighting and Displays Contract and to
appoint a suitable contractor. (PAPER C to follow - Confidential).
