The minutes to the previous meeting held on 6 July 2021 were reviewed.
RESOLVED:
THAT, the minutes to the meeting held on 6 July 2021 were approved as a true and
accurate record and were signed off by the Chair.
104/21 DELAGATED DECISIONS.
Owing to the meeting held on 28 July 2021 being inquorate, all planning applications were
decided under the delegated responsibilities of the Planning Chair and Planning Clerk.

106/21 RYDE INTERCHANGE CONSULTATION
At the Planning Committee meeting held on the 6 July 2021 it was resolved to hold a
consultation meeting where Isle of Wight Council officers would be invited to provide more
details around the proposals and address issues and concerns from Ryde Town Council
members, key stakeholders and members of the public.
It was further decided that if this was not possible due to Isle of Wight Council and Ryde
Town Council officers not being available, this item would return to the next meeting. The
meeting of the 28th July 2021 did not take place as it was not quorate so it was considered
at this meeting held 16th August 2021.
RESOLVED:
THAT, as the finish date for public consultation had passed, Ryde Town Council
would ask Isle of Wight Council Officers to attend an information day so that they
can inform the public of the results of the consultation and be available to answer
questions on all aspects of the scheme.

RESOLVED:
THAT Ryde Town Council objects to this application on the following
grounds:
1. The application includes mention of a soakaway to deal with the extra
surface water created by the scheme, however, there are no details as to
the siting and size of the proposed soakaway. In addition, the approved
roadworks which this scheme is facilitating will produce extra surface
water and this proposal should have sort in some way to mitigate that.
2. The proposed drive and soakaway will seriously diminish to an
unacceptable level the amount of amenity land attached to the property on
this revised site.
3. The proposed entrance is very close to an area of road where traffic will
be accelerating away from the traffic lights and when cars are accessing a
tight entrance drive could cause some accidents.

109/21 REPORT FROM HIGH STREET HERITAGE ACTION ZONE (HSHAZ) PROJECT
MANAGER
Members were provided with an update on the latest position with the HSHAZ Project.
Details of the scheme could be found on the HSHAZ Websitte
110/21 REPORT ON RYDE REGENRATION WORTKING GROUP (RRWG)
Members received an update from the Depuity Chair of the RRWG. The main area of
discussion at the previous group meeting was around the proposed Ryde Interchange
plans. There was also extensive discussions around the proposed Ryde East
developments such as Pennyfeathers, Nicholson Road and West Acre Park, including
the various infrastructure issues that were still being awaited from the Isle of Wight
Council.
