44/21 FINAL ACCOUNTS
The RFO presented the Final Accounts for the 2020-21 Financial Year and
reported on a significant overspend that had occurred on the Public Conveniences
water supply budget due to a leak at the Appley public conveniences site. The
matter was subject to negotiation with both Southern Water (the supplier) and the
Isle of Wight Council who had previously been responsible for the payment of
invoices in respect of the supply (and were appearing to continue to benefit from
the supply). The RFO would report back on the progress on negotiations for a
refund on expenditure incurred and would examine the placing of a cap on future
sums that could be taken by direct debit.

be examined in order to present more meaningful financial management
information, to include the use of alternative accountancy software.

for the approved expenditure of £3,365 (excluding VAT) for cleaning the Canoe
Lake. The RFO suggested that funding be met in the first instance from the Beach
Cleaning budget. Councillor Chapman suggested that such expenditure be
included in future years as part of the beach cleaning contract.
