RECOMMENDATION FROM FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING HELD
ON 18TH JANUARY 2022.
COUNCIL TAX & PRECEPT
To recommend to full council
1. That the budget as presented be approved subject to an increase of £19,000
in the community grants budget.
2. That the precept sum of £1,258,270 be approved (representing an increase of
4% based on the tax base for the 2021-22 financial year).
UPDATE - FOLLOWING INFORMATION RECEIVED AFTER THE FINANCE
MEETING ON THE 18TH JANUARY 2022
NOTES:
1. The 2021-22 tax base was 8087.4.
2. The tax base for 2022-23 was advised as being 8205.7 on Wednesday 19th
January.
3. The tax base has therefore increased by
118.3 Band D equivalent
properties.
4. The impact of the increase in tax base is that the above recommended
precept of
£1,258,270 represents a 2.5% increase from the current years Band D Tax
and an increase in Band D of £3.78 per annum (from £149.56 to £153.34).
