Title of Report: | Awarding of Beach Safety and First aid |
Context: | This report outlines why I believe the contract should be awarded to Ryde Beach Lifeguards |
Report Author: | Jake Babington Operations Manager |
This report highlights the works already carried out by Ryde Beach lifeguards the relationship already in place and that I believe the contract should be awarded to Waterside Community Trust (Ryde Beach Lifeguards) again for a further 5 years.
As this contract is for over £75,000 it is a requirement to provide a report on why councillors should look to approve the contract as well as the contractor who has tendered. They have been in contract with us previously and they have provided a good level of service to the council.
The financial benefit for awarding this contract to Waterside Community Trust (Ryde Beach Lifeguards) is a saving of £56,683 per annum in comparison to the other tender received.
The total annual cost for the beach safety contract is £20,316.67 plus VAT. The total lifetime cost of the contract over 5 years is £101,583 plus VAT.
There were two tenders for this contract. Ryde Beach Lifeguards and MEDIREK LTD
My recommendation is for the Beach Safety contract be awarded to Waterside Community Trust (Ryde Beach Lifeguards). due to both the monetary savings value and the relationship already present between us and the contractor.
Ryde Beach lifeguards have a great track record of providing an excellent service within the remits of the specification as well as assisting RTC with any other tasks that is within their capability such as beach rental set up and breakdown, monitoring of Paddleboard and kayak hire, First aid provision for additional events and the accessibility project.
They provide a professional service at a reasonable price point, and work well with RTC, being a Ryde based contractor with local knowledge of the tide, current and area layout, with an existing good working relationship. I feel that they should be awarded the contract.
