Ryde Town Council is delighted to announce the success of the Mayoral Fundraising Auction held on Saturday 13 May. The event, which took place at the prestigious Ryde School, was attended by 100 guests, including local business owners, members from the University of Portsmouth, and many other wonderful individuals.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome and refreshing drinks in the stunning grounds of Ryde School. Attendees were treated to a captivating performance by Huxley, adding a delightful touch to the evening. The highlight of the night was the live auction, expertly hosted by Warren Riches from HRD Auction Rooms.
The auction featured a wide array of exceptional items up for bid, generously donated by local businesses and supporters. Among the remarkable auction lots were Wightlink Multilink Tickets, a delightful 7-course tasting menu at the renowned Heron restaurant, a luxurious Fortnum and Mason Hamper, and many other attractive offerings. Notably, Lot 9, an exquisite artwork by Richard May, became the most sought-after item of the evening, fetching an impressive £270 as the winning bid for this unique one-of-a-kind piece.
The success of the Mayoral fundraising auction would not have been possible without the incredible support of the attendees. We would like to thank to all the generous individuals who attended the event and contributed to the cause. The funds raised through the auction will be instrumental in supporting the trust’s mission to nurture and support meaningful community projects.
The evening concluded on a high note with the presence of Our Girl G on the decks adding an extra layer of excitement as she brought the party to life with her groovy tunes, as people let loose and danced the night away.
Mayor of Ryde, Cllr Lilley Said:
