– ACTS ANNOUNCED FOR THE BIG BEACH WEEKENDER

PRESS RELEASE from Keith Penny – Producer of The Big Beach Weekender

After recently announcing the launch of The Big Beach Weekender, a series of 3 evenings of
entertainment that will take place on Ryde’s Harbour Beach this summer, organisers have now
confirmed the line up.
The unique series of outdoor concerts relaunch the concept of The Woodland Sessions, which
ran successfully at Robin Hill in 2021 and 2022, but were forced to move by the closure of the country
park.
Centred around the same positioning of “exceptional talent in an exceptional setting” the 3 shows
will include stand up comedy, a 90’s beach party and a current dance music night.
Big Beach Comedy kicks off the series on Thursday July 11th with the Island’s biggest comedy line up
of the year, comprising well known TV comedians/ comic actors Maisie Adam, Dylan Moran, Hal
Cruttenden and Harriet Kemsley.
Big Beach Party on Friday July 12th
sees the popular return to the Island of the hugely in demand,
Rhythm Of The 90’s, the UK’s undisputed number one 90’s dance covers party starters. Having appeared
at The Woodland Sessions in both 2021 and 2022 and trebling their Island audience year on year,
excitement is sure to be high.
And Big Beach Dance promises an exhilarating night for dance music lovers on Saturday July 13th
with the undisputed godfather of Drum n Bass, Andy C headlining, accompanied by MC Tonn Piper
hosting. Support is provided by the rapidly rising star that is DJ Lens, who is at the forefront of a new
wave of female dance music talent & Dynamite MC, who appeared with Sigma in 2022 and is one of the
biggest names in the global MC world, collaborating with many giants of dance music in the process
including Andy C, Tiesto & Roni Size.

From 4 top stand up comedians that appear regularly on shows like Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News
For You and 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown to the world’s biggest and most enduring DnB DJ, Andy
C, who is returning to the Island for the first time since playing Bestival here 10 years ago.
Keith continued “And not many covers bands can grace main stages at festivals like Victorious, or sell
out venues like Portsmouth Guildhall, in the way that Rhythm Of The 90’s do. Having appeared twice
before at The Woodland Sessions, and with the Island recently topping a social media poll, of the most in
demand place for them to play this summer, we know that our 90’s beach party is guaranteed to be
hugely popular.

Town Council and the general public, since news of the move to Ryde broke last year ”
