– PARKING Tour of Britain – Resident information

To ensure the safety of the 100+ riders who will be reaching speeds of around 40mph on sections of the course, residents who live along the route and would normally use on street parking will need to remove their cars to an alternative location nearby.

Residents will need to remove their cars by 6pm the previous night (Saturday September 10) with parking restrictions remaining in place until the race passes the following day.

Key roads affected in Ryde

  • Start line on Esplanade (Eastern Gardens) to East Hill Road All parking bays and limited waiting suspended, no parking in this area from 6pm on Saturday 10 September until the site is cleared after the race has departed on Sunday 11 September.
  • East Hill Road to Appley Road
    No parking restrictions imposed.
  • Appley Road to Calthorpe Road
    No on-street parking allowed in this area.
  • Calthorpe Road to Pondwell Hill
    No on-street parking allowed in this area.

Any cars left on the course will need to be removed in the interests of safety and will be relocated to a safe place nearby. Residents will then need to ring the Isle of Wight Council on 823800 to establish the vehicle location.
