In a bold step towards efficient and environmentally friendly transport solutions, the Mayor of Ryde has announced that all official engagements will now be carried out using the newly adopted Mayoral Electric Scooter.
Although the council no longer operates a mayoral car, an official council spokesperson confirmed that the scooter provides “a perfectly suitable, highly aerodynamic alternative for navigating the town.”
When asked about the new mode of transport, the Mayor of Ryde Cllr Conyers said:
“I have long relied on walking and public transport to get around. The electric scooter provides a practical, environmentally friendly means to move quickly between engagements while keeping public service accessible and efficient.”
Residents may spot the Mayor carrying out site inspections, attending community events, and if the wind is favourable performing a stately glide along the seafront.
