– Isle of Wight Armed Forces Day returns for 2023

This year Armed Forces Day is at the glorious beachside location of Eastern Gardens in Ryde. The date for your diary is Sunday the 25th of June. One day after the national Armed Forces Day. The Isle of Wight Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community. From currently serving troops to service families, veterans, and cadets.

Ian Dore – Armed Forces Champion and AFD Committee Chair:
“We’ve been working on this for some time and this year’s event is going to put the Island firmly back on the Armed Forces Day map. Details of who and what will be released over the next few months, but I urge you to put a massive X in your diary for the date! Without shadow of a doubt, it is shaping up to be one of the ‘essential events’ on the Island this summer.”

Showing support for the Armed Forces provides a much-valued morale boost for the troops and their families. The location itself provides the perfect opportunity to display land, sea and air assets, along with all you’d expect at an Armed Forces Day; at one of the most idyllic parts of the Island.

Dore:

“The website is live at isleofwightarmedforcesday.co.uk so bookmark it for all the latest updates. We’ve also got a Facebook page too. Over the coming weeks and months, the details will be firmed up on how YOU can get involved, what the day consists of and much more. For now, block out the date for Sunday the 25th of June. It’s going to be a belter!
