To all Ryde residents, Stay Home, Protect the NHS and Save Lives.
We are all back in Lockdown and facing the cold weather, it is a difficult time for us all. My heart goes out to all those who have experienced Covid and its knock-on effects. It is really hard to understand how we were in Tier 1 with a very low rate of Covid and are now faced with having an extremely high infection rate, but this is our reality, and we share this reality with the whole of UK. I do urge all residents to strictly follow the rules (see link below) and stay home and stay safe. There are helplines that you can use to get information, advice, and support for yourself, neighbours, family, and friends. The Ryde Community Hub Helpline 01983-716020, Isle of Wight Covid-19 helpline 01983-823600 and the website https://keeptheislandsafe.org/. Please if you need support make contact, there is help there if you need it. Whether it is shopping, telephone phone support, collecting prescriptions or advice on utility bills and much more.
Now we have a vaccine there is hope and hope is most important at this time. Each week more Ryde residents are getting vaccinated, however we all need to help prevent the spread of this virulent virus. Before many of us did not know someone with Covid-19 but the reality is this is no longer the case. We all need to do our part by following the rules to help prevent the spread of this virus.
Ryde Town Council are working closely with local organisations such as Aspire Ryde and Isle of Wight Council to make sure Ryde residents get the support they need. We are also looking at support post Covid and rebuilding the Town for future generations. Together we will make sure our Town thrives with opportunity, kindness, and warmth. Please stay safe, stay home. #StayHomeStaySafeSaveLives
