Saturday 14 May saw the first ever annual Celebrating Ryde event at Garfield Road Methodist Church in Ryde. This brand new event in the calendar is the result of a collaboration between Ryde Town Council and the Isle of Wight Council designed to celebrate everything that is fantastic about Ryde.
It was an opportunity for local organisations to come and engage with members of the public and explain a little bit more about some of the exciting things going on in Ryde.

Luke Kerr, Director of Wight Wave Beach Sports said:

“The Ryde Society were delighted to have been invited to participate in this event and will look forward to being invited to participate in an even bigger event next time. It was a really good forum to meet Officers and Councillors under one roof; and enabled people to make their views known, who might otherwise not have done so.”
Mayor Michael Lilley said:
“What a wonderful way to celebrate our town! It was lovely to see so many people come along and find out more about the way Ryde is moving forward. Next year’s event is already being planned and I’m sure that it will be even bigger and better – there is so much to celebrate about Ryde!”
