Ryde Carnival 2016
Ryde is celebrating Carnival Week at the end of August with a number of, mainly free, family friendly events taking place in the town as well as the three Ryde Carnival processions which take place on Wednesday 31st August at 3pm (Children’s), Thursday 1st September at 7pm (Main) and Saturday 3rd September at 8.30pm (Illuminated). During the week there will be pop up carnival workshops, carnival dance classes, a treasure hunt, a starlight swim at Waterside and special tree climbing and go-carting events. There is a fascinating History of Ryde Carnival exhibition at Ryde library and the IoW Bus & Coach Museum is opening specially for the whole week! Full details will be in the Ryde Carnival Programme which goes on sale in early July and will include Ryde’s window spotting competition – see if you can spot the odd item in the windows of over 100 Ryde shops that will be participating in the competition this year! And this year each program includes a lucky number that offers the chance to win one of many prizes donated by Ryde’s businesses.
